2nd March 1957: Sam becomes archaeology professor Dale Conway, just as he and his attractive colleague Ginny Will break into a long-lost Egyptian tomb. Their disappointment that the sarcophagus of King Ptah-Hotep the Second is not to be found, seemingly stolen by grave robbers, quickly turns to concern, when they find a hieroglyphic warning of a curse that dooms all defilers. After a nervous Al informs Sam that Ginny and Dale are destined to vanish without a trace, strange things begin to happen: a cobra attacks Ginny; one of the helpers is killed by scorpions; the car belonging to Dale’s partner, Doctor Mustafa El Razul, breaks down; and a tent catches fire. Sam tries to disprove the curse by rationalising these events, but Al remains unconvinced. Sam and Ginny are excited to discover a hidden chamber containing the king’s mummified body and a hoard of jewels – but then the tomb seals shut, trapping the two professors inside…
